‘The Über Artist: UrBan rEgional Rural’
Trocadero Art Space is conducting a series of online exhibitions of contemporary artworks from emerging artists on its new website in 2008. The project will provide a platform for artists to expand their audiences beyond the confines of a physical gallery to an online presence.
‘The Über Artist’ will be a series of 6-week online exhibitions from April to October. As a re-launch of the successful Billboard @ TROCADERO, the online Billboard will showcase several works from each selected artist for an extended period.
The project plays on the notion of the Über artist in its representation of artists from cross the state- UrBan rEgional and Rural Victoria in an all-encompassing, widely available and accessible environment- the internet.
Applications will be selected in line with Trocadero’s statement of purpose ‘to provide exhibition space and opportunity for emerging and established artists within a professional and critical environment, in the annual exhibition calendar displaying a high quality and standard, and reflecting the diversity of new and contemporary art practice’.
